Can anyone tell me just a good reason to have a facebook?
I'm a teenager trying to convince my parents to let me have a facebook. I just need some good reasons for me to have one. Also include if possible some ways facebook is safe. Thanks!
Also do you have any ways to convince my parents to let me get a facebook? Ads |

facebook is safe because you can block your profile so nobody can see it but your friends.its good to have a facebook because you can make more and new friends. (by that i mean old friends and people from your school.not people you dont know.).

Facebook has always been fun to have (keeping in touch with friends and friends I haven't seen in awhile and friends who are far away), but also, facebook has been a useful tool for me. When needing to get ahold of people for extra-curricular activities, facebook has proved very useful. My friends/other people associated with that activity or event won't always check their email everyday but often check their facebook many times per day. Also, if I need somebody to work for me, I have coworkers on there who I can get in contact with easily because they check it often. And of course, almost every teenager can relate to having forgotten a homework assignment (myself included). I can't tell you the number of times that I've forgotten what I was supposed to read, or what an essay/paper topic was supposed to be and I found out by asking friends who were nice enough to take time to tell me through facebook chat.
Facebook is safe because you have to confirm somebody before they become your friend. Only those that you know will be able to view the vast majority of your information, and if you want, you can set your privacy settings to be so tight that nobody can even see that you exist on facebook unless you yourself add them. There is also an option to not allow facebook to give your information out to advertisers who advertise on facebook (I would suggest taking advantage of that personally). I have had Myspace and Twitter before as well, and on both of those social networking sites, I have had people add me/follow me who were basically wanna be p*rn stars looking to spread their name. I don't remember ever having that problem with facebook in the nearly 2 years that I have had it. On Myspace, some of the profile's have gotten viruses in the past, which is not something i like to deal with. And on twitter, i've had some people follow me and whenever I click to see who is, I can't view them, which scares me. In summary, facebook is the safest of the 3 most well known social networking sites, and can often be used for more than just play. It can be used to keep in touch with coworkers, those involved in extra-curricular activities, and classmates who might know assignments when you were in a rush and didn't write them down yourself. |
