What are the parts of ObamaCare that are wrong?
And what parts are a good idea? I haven't been on YA politics section for a while and I am interested to find out what people are thinking. I see the "repeal ObamaCare" things on my Facebook newsfeed from friends and relative, but I want to know which ideas are good and which aren't. Opinions?

Flower--I agree that health care should not be dependent on employment. In fact, if you have money to purchase something individually, you should be able to do it the same way someone could in an employer-sponsored group plan, and for the same price. So what is your stance on insurance companies cherry picking their customers?

Every part that takes freedoms away from the individual and gives more authority to the government.

The polls indicate that a majority of people like the individual benefits of the bill, but there is one major disagreement. The democrats say we have to pay for it, while the republicans say we don't.

The whole idea of taking one's own body and making it the nation's business is a bad idea. If I get sick and have no insurance, let me agree to die. I want to live free or die. Better than to merely exist as some kind of taxpaying pawn of the state. If you think that is such a bad idea and that I am a fool, why do you want to suck money out of me? Since when do fools subsidize non-fools?

The main thing I do not like is the loss of privacy. I rarely hear that talked about. Women used to say, "get your government laws off my body". Then those same GD women approve of Obama Care putting its laws on mine.

I disagree with any employer being required to offer expensive health plans even though employees pay a share. I dont think health care should be dependent on employment. Of course it is cheaper that way because group rates keep the premiums lower but the insurance exchange will do the same thing and thats why there had to be a mandate for everyone to buy insurance AND get a tax credit.

I also disagree with expanding Medicaid even though the federal government is picking up the entire tab for 3 years. After that, the states will again have to pay their share of Medicaid and they probably wont be able to. I think people on Medicaid should pay something, not get it free. We on Medicare pay money each month even though we paid our taxes to fund part of Medicare.

The good part is that it mandates personal responsibility, and attempts to make healthcare affordable for the majority of US Citizens. The bad part is that we have to mandate personal responsibility at all.
