Honestly, I believe you are just simply being selfish by not bothering to stop your brother. Beating up a your own wife is emotionally and physically distressing. Please do your best to help your mother. Divorce is the best solution despite the fact that it will break the family, because by the sounds of it, your father is a cruel man. A family must be fair. There are no chances of your parent's relationship improving rather than deteriorating because physical abuse is against the law of humanity. Please help your mum. Don't let your brother be their on his own because it's not fair on him either.
