How to stop facebook showing you have added a friend.?

Is there a way to stop facebook showing you have added a friend on the livefeed/newsfeed?
I have recently become friends with the ex-girlfriend of one of my friends and want to add her on facebook but I don’t want my other friend to see.

I don't think so.
It will not say that you have added her though, it will say 'james and jessica are now friends' for example.
Maybe you could say that she added you?

You have to make your friends list invisible to your friend so that he can't see the stories that are published on your wall about your connections. BUT if the ex-girlfriend for example write on your wall etc it will be seen by your other friend
