How to convince my mom to let me get facebook?
How can I convince my mother to let me get a facebook? I think that she is scared to let me have one because my cousin who is 14 (3 months older than me) puts really bad stuff on her myspace. But my cousin and I are total opposites. She is a party/bad girl and I am more proper and reserved. So how can I convince my mom? Thanks!

Tell her that most of your friends have a facebook account and that you are responsible & you don't do bad stuff.
Tell her that she can trust you. Also - tell her that you will show her your profile & pictures...etc...
Also - it's not like MySpace....bad, inappropriate advertisements don't come up at all ...
Tell her - that you will not put up personal info.

Good luck.

Go online with her and show her what it is and how most people are not doing bad things on it. Offer to make her one of your friends so she can see what you are putting.

show her that facebook is more sophisticated than myspace and has a lot more class than a whole bunch of skanky photos and stuff like that, just show her what it looks like and once she realizes how bland it looks she probably wont be afraid to let you have one

There are much, much more adults on Facebook, so creepers are smarter then to get on there. I can honestly say after using it for years, I've never seen one weirdo. Unlike MySpace, you can make EVERYTHING private to people who aren't your friends, your picture and even your name. It's a lot safer. You should have your mom get her own Facebook to try it out, it's a fun way for adults to get reconnected to their high school friends.
