First of all, why are you prying? Whatever someone posts on their facebook is none of your business. Maybe she's just being private about it and doesn't wanna talk about it. And if you're just too curious, just ask her and get it over with.

she could just be lying, yeah, but she could also be secretive. some girls don't like the world to know about everything they do. some girls say they're in a relationship just to reject other guys cause they might not be ready yet. you could ask her about it, but if you don't plan to be her boyfriend, then don't.

I spend enough time on facebook to know that if somebody says she's in a relationship, 99.999% of the time it means she's in a relationship and you're probably not going to have a shot.
