How can I ask my mom for a Facebook without sounding immature?
Ok, so pretty much all my friends have a Facebook and I really want one too. But, I don't know if my mom will let me have one because, well, she's one of those moms. Please help me!

First, get your MOM a FB account and let HER try it out for a bit. Yep, it's not just for young folk. Note how you can become "fans" of news sources (like maybe, even, of your local paper and other stuff in your town?) Then, offer to be yer MOM's friend if she'll let YOU get a FB account. Can you handle that?

Don't tell her that you're making one.

ha! thats funny.

well you can always go behind her back and do it anyways but the fact yer trying to fight the good fight is honourable. yer mom should be proud and you should show her this comment saying she raised a good kid.

i'd go about it like: "everyone has it online and it's a very public website so no need to worry about my safety".

"b/c you worry about me i want to share the password /w you for MY account, this way you can make sure im not up to no good"

"I'd also like to add you as a friend online mom, yer family prob has facebook and everyone uses real names so theres no pervs on it (well that i know of)".

convince her it's a family website. it really is. nothing over 18 on it or like that. my mom is a friend on mine and i can share pics /w her.

i'd get yer friend's account online in front of yer mom and you, click around soem pics and status updates/comments (make sure it's a good friend, LOL). SHOW HER that it's a nice "good kid" website.

can always sign up and then give her an invite! LMFAO.

some say the party's over once yer mom/dad is on facebook. i say they get invited to the party!

best bet is prob to find relatives who use it and start viewing their profiles.

facebook is prob one of the best "family safe" websites the internet HAS. (so what, the 1 in a million website? LOL)

i can totally understand her worries. when i have kids im gonna keylog their comps, traffic snif their internet traffic, and take screen captures every 30 secs w/o them knowing. ye mom's not SOO bad. hahaha.

im sure it's her not trusting the net more then not trusting you. i say let her into yer life more and she'll be more of a friend then a mom. better spot for you both. that also might overcome her parental nature by wanting to fit in /w her hip kid. Tongue

Be like:

"Whoa.. (when your on the computer) everyones doing some face booking thing..."

"Hey mom this looks cool (when your on the website)"

"How do i sign up for one of these things?...wait wait wait...am i aloud to?"

Then you will know. And if its your mom you might be able to ask like just do it... you never know. But try this maybe.....

If she says no im sorry Sad

Try for a myspace Tongue

This is your mother. If you make one of those facebooks you are GROUNDED missy. Unless you want to be raped over the internet.

Tell your mom your sister will monitor you. Or, get your sister to show you how to use the site then tell her "Can you make me one?"

And ^^ you are sooo not her mom - you've got horrible grammar, buddy.
