Any ideas for a disastrous/funny family dinner scene?

For my novel
Characters include:
Mother who can't cook
Father who is obsessed with politics
teenage son (about 13) who is one of the main characters
teenage daughter (about 17) who is over dramatic and always falling in love with a new guy
Boyfriend of teenage daughter who rides a motorcycle
and feel free to add a few characters if you want. I am not very good at funny scenes.

girlfriend of fathers sends teenage daughter a facebook message thinking it's his wife to let her know about her and that he has been carrying on an affair and daughter gets all facebook messages sent to her cell so she see's it and reads it out loud during dinner
