what is the advantage of having a twitter?
I've heard some things about it but I'm not quite sure. Is twitter like a facebook or just a text message opinion? I'm thinking about having one but I don't see it. And also is there an advantage of having a Facebook? I had a Myspace twice but it's too overrated for me. Thanks!

Twitter is basically like a stalker:

You can find for example celebrities and keep updated with what they are doing, its basically like facebook but just the status part.

Plus you can add anyone, they dont have to accept you.

Twitter is what they call a "micro-blogging platform" which is basically like instant-messaging the world about any topic you like.

They limit the amount of characters (words) you can enter at a time, but that's what's making it fun for so many people. It's a challenge to communicate with few words, yet fun B/C you will be surprised what people can say in that short space.

Of course, you can enter message after message if you want. There is no limit to how many times you can write something.

Another reason you may like it is B/C even famous people are jumping in and "talking." Like celebrities, for example.

This is crazy and new -- I mean when in the past could you actually talk to movie stars, famous people or even your local "important" or "fun" people one-on-one?

You "follow" people that you like, and you'll get followers too. You don't have to follow back if you don't want; and you can block folks if you want/need to.

There are even YouTube videos showing what it is and how people are using it (and why.)

You can give it a try and cancel out if you don't like it. It's one of those things that can add to your Life if you're someone who loves "talking" to friends and others OR discovering new and interesting people you may not have otherwise known or heard about.

Whatever you choose, I wish you the best!
