How to block people on Facebook from commenting and liking what you post?

My Mom has facebook and comments and likes everything I post of Facebook,

I don't want to remove her as a friend but I would like to block her from commenting on my posts.

It's so annoying!! Please help!!

the only way is to block her or just tell her to stop in person

The only way you can do this is to remove her unless you go to settings and set commenting to nobody which will cause no other friends to comment

Whenever you post a status, you will see a little lock next to the share button. Click this then choose custom. Where it says These People: choose friends only. Where it says Hide From, start typing your Mom's name and choose her name from the drop-down list. Click the checkbox that says make this my default setting. Then click Save Setting and she can no longer comment/like your statuses.

The problem with the answers above it that it makes your wall visible to nobody, and I don't think you want to block all of your friends from seeing your entire wall.

~~If you make your comments private, it is not viewable by anyone. You are not able to just single out a person to not see your comments. So you either have to remove her, or she can see everything any other friend can see.~~

I know where you're coming from! I've had to do this myself. Here is what I did: I went to Privacy Settings under Account. Click on Customize Settings. Where it says "Posts By Me" to the left you probably have "Everyone" chosen. Click on Customize. In the "Hide From These People" block make sure to type in your mother's Facebook name. Save settings and voila!
