How do I change my PIc on here??! also how do I answer back to people that answered my question?

Your avatar can be a cartoon or a photo. You can also use your Facebook or Twitter avatar. For an animated gif you should make it your Twitter avatar first.

STEP 1.
In order for your avatar to appear you must make your Yahoo Profile visible. That is done here:

There is no reason to hide your profile. Nothing appears unless you enter it and turn a switch on. The name can be anything you want.

STEP 2.
If you want to use your Facebook or Twitter avatar be sure to link the sites in the Profile options.

STEP 3.
To create a cartoon avatar first go to http://avatars.yahoo.com and create one.

STEP 4.
Click on the default avatar in Y!A and select "edit my preferences".

Click on "update photo or avatar" and a small window will open.
You can select the cartoon, Facebook, or Twitter avatar or upload your own photo.
After clicking "use selected photo" be sure to click "submit".
The same photo will appear in the Yahoo Profile.

Yahoo Answers is not designed to have a conversation. There is supposed to be a question and an answer. If someone does not understand the question they are supposed to skip it or try to email the asker. The asker of the question can add additional information to the question under the edit menu under the question. You are not supposed to directly converse with a person answering question. You must click on their avatar and see if they allow email.

Many people will ask a question in their answer and the asker will respond in the additional information. That is technically not allowed and the question and answer can both be reported for a chatting violation.

When the asker picks the best answer there will be a comment window where you can comment or give thanks for the answer.

You could choose either a cartoon or a photo avatar

Cartoon, this way is fast, straight forward and easy. Go below, create your avatar and save. Then, click your current default avatar then click edit my preferences and you will see where to check use avatar.

You could also create a personal avatar below save it to you pc then upload it as a photo.

Click on your current avatar then click edit my preferences to the right of your default avatar click update photo. Follow the prompts to upload it from your pc.


Yahoo Answers is not intended as a chat site so you have to be careful not to be chatting, or you could be reported. The best way however, you could click on their avatar, if they accept ims or emails click on the appropriate one and follow the prompts. If the question is still open: click on the "edit" link below your question then "add details" add your note, preview and submit.
