Is there any way for me to find my father if I have his SSN?
My brother is searching desperately for our father..we havent seen him in about 10 years. My mother gave us his SSN and I was wondering if there was a way to find him using that. safe websites. numbers. anything. I honestly dont care if I never see him again but it has really affected my older brother not having him in our lives. I want to help him because I care about him. So please help.

Ya I'm pretty sure you can, hire a investigate... I've seen I t on true life when they try to find the estranged sisters or something
good luck!
Or if worst comes maybe like go to some kind of authority or club kind of association that deals with those specifics of helping people find family

Actually NO!
As a security professional, I know that it is illegal to use a person's SSN as a means to track their whereabouts.

Credit cards, drivers licence, all OK, SSN NO!

You may be able to talk to a local police agency to see if there is anyway to locate a city, state, town anything! If you have a friend who works for a loan company or any type of banking agency that could use the number to track him down that would be a nice plus. As the person stated before it is illegal to do this but sometimes we dont care about the law, if you need answers you have to go above and beyond to find them. If i where you, I would try to locate an investigator and see what he could find you could always do a facebook/myspace search thats been in the news a lot. "Found long lost brother on twitter!!" lol Good luck!
