How Do You Delete a Twitter Account?

Is there something in account settings that can help me? Should I contact Twitter to do this?

Click on Settings and scroll down to the bottom of the page. At the bottom of the main white box is a link for deleting your account.

Step1
Log in to your Twitter account. Enter your username and password on Twitter. See the link in our Resources section that will take your directly to the Website. Signing in will take you to your profile page.
Step2
Locate the "Settings" section. This is located in the top right hand corner of the screen. It is the fourth option from the left. Select "Settings" to go to your account management page.
Step3
Select the "Delete My Account" button. You'll find this option at the bottom of the account management page. Scroll down to the bottom of the page. Look to the left hand bottom corner of the screen to select it.
Step4
Confirm the deletion. You will now reach a different page that asks you to confirm the deletion. Select the "Okay, Fine, Delete My Account" button. Clicking on this will disable your account.
Step5
Select "Home" to return to the main screen. Your account username and password will no longer work when you attempt to sign in to Twitter.
