I know it's called a hash tag, but other than that, I'm clueless as well. I'm glad you asked this question, cause I feel like most people are confused too. Maybe it means #whatiwroteseemscoolerthanitis

People on twitter put a # or hashtag symbol before relevant keywords. |

Its a hashtag. They are generally used on Twitter because on Twitter when you use a hash tag the words turn blue and can click on it and see what other people have said using the same topic. It became so popular that it has progressed from twitter to all over the internet. Hope I helped
