Facebook question: can I put a sibling im not fb friends with?

I wanted to list my brother and sister as my siblings on facebook but I don't have either of them as my actual friends on fb and would prefer to keep it that way. Can I still send them a sibling request if their not my friends or do I need to add them first?

It will Show as youur sibling but your "sibling" will not get a famil tree request and their name will not have a link

you can just type their name and it will list that name, it just wont become a link to their page

u can type their name as your bro/sis on there but their names won't be a link to there pages
