Where is a good place to meet up with awkward friends?

A friend of mine (girl) and i are planning to meet up in the holidays. We were primary schoolmates though we weren't very close. We are more closer on facebook and i dont know where to meet up so it isnt awkward since we hardly talk.

A coffee shop or cafe, which is not too busy or too public, is a good place. Alternatively a park with a reasonably public area is a good rdv if you don't want to be too intimate.

Maybe in a local restaurant or cafe. or the mall/shops

In my town I know the perfect spot. The public zoo. It is free and you get to walk around and see stuff and when there are pauses in conversation you can always talk about the animals.
