How to add someone on Facebook after their requests were denied twice?

Someone I haven't spoken to in years added me on Facebook and my boyfriend denied it. They requested me again and I accidentally hit the wrong button, denying them. How can I add them without it being weird?

Send that person a friend request yourself and send a message saying that you hit the denied accidentally.

Just send them a request, and tell them someone else got on your computer and declined it. Just say sorry about that.
