facebook privacy question?

Whenever I write on a friend's wall it shows up on my entire timeline. I thought this was FB not Twitter?! THIS is what happens for example

I can't hide it either. No matter what I write THAT is visible to everyone on my friends list.

Another gripe is that I can not hide what I post from certain people on *my wall* either! You only have the option to BLOCK people or not. There is no option to hide certain posts from certain people.. AND keep them as a friend still. Like if you have your parents, co workers or other people of importance on your page but don't want them to see your every other post, there is no option for that. You either have to completely block them from FB or just try not to post anything that's risky.
Am I overlooking something? I only use Facebook for educational reasons (keeping updated with school, career and newsworthy events in my field of study) but my family and a few hs friends have decided to add me and they aren't as private/respectful. I'd appreciate the help thanks.

Sorry to say this but there is nothing you can do. This is just part of the new facebook layout. However, the layout changes periodically so this may not be a problem in the next update.
