am i reading too far into tweets (referencing other girls) when this guy seems to like me?

This is very immature, and I admit I'm doing a little cyber-stalking but...

There's this guy that has been pursuing me for quite a while, direct messaging me on twitter, asking friends about me, sending lots of text messages and calling a lot. Seems like a good deal, even if it's a little over the top. So, I go out with him Friday night, we get VERY drunk and have fun, which (unfortunately, I think) leads to barely functional sex...which my roommate heard most of, and later informed me that I was being particularly crazy, telling him "he has no idea what he's getting into," that I was "a mess," and then going on about how much I loved my cat (?) So, I freaked out and left an apology message - he calls back a few hours later, says not to worry about it, he took my wacky behavior as just overemotional (my best friend had her first baby that night), and we made plans to hang out wednesday. So, all is well - until i casually check his twitter page and find a few mildly romantic tweets about how he's happy "she" is texting him. At first, I'm flattered, but than I check the dates, and this was before he starting texting ME all the time (about three weeks ago) WTF? I really didn't expect there was anyone else around, as he's been so persistent with me, and everytime he wants to make plans, it really seems like he's got endless time - like, whole weekends free. What is going on here? Am I reading too much into this?
