Why Did My Ex Girlfriend Send a Friend Request on Facebook?

I just don't understand why she would send me a friend request on Facebook
and not send me a single message after what I had done to her.

Basically once I turned 18 I got cold feet and vanished from her life because she had a kid and I didn't want to take on the responsibility of being a father...I know I'm an awful person for leaving without a trace but why after two years she decides to do that and not even reply?
