Is there any way I can keep certain people from seeing a status on Facebook?

So my parents are extremely nosey, My mother will get my family to check in on my status' and what not and I don't want to block or delete them, but is there anyway i can keep certain people from seeing my status' without blocking anyone?

We all wish there was a "Keep Hidden From Family" tab in the security tab but sadly there isn't I'm 20 and my mom still checks in on me : / so you would either have to block or delete them which you said you don't wanna do
