How can you get people to visit your blog?

I haven't started a blog yet, so I can't exactly add a website...but when I do start a blog, how do I get people to notice it? I mean, there are SO many bloggers today but more than half of them are sort of unknown. I don't want to get lost in the crowd.

I have a blog and I know it's very hard to get noticed. For example, you can post your blog link here and other sites first. Here's my blog: http://drawanime.wordpress.com Mine is about anime, so you should make a blog with certain topics. Make the link with no numbers so it's easier to remember. Good luck!

Google "google keyword tool". Now google some of the keywords your blog is about. Say you are into dog training, try searching this. You will get a feel for some of the problems people are having with their dog training. Things like dog potty training, dog training leash etc. Now write blog entry titles with these keywords. Like "Dog Training: 10 basic tips"
Always make sure the focus is on the first couple of words. Don't worry - if your information after here is good, then people will find you and share your content around.

Other ideas:
make a video and distribute to multiple sites through http://www.tubemogul.com/

i used to have a tumblr and people used to do a follow4follow (if you follow their blog theyll follow yours in return). the ones i liked were amq, villtur, lilts and ceruleansearch (.tumblr.com)
other blogs arent as social,i find. good luck!

Assuming that you have done your keyword research and basic SEO(like meta data and meta keywords). The things you need to follow are:

- Submit your site to all the search engines for the crawlers to index your site: http://www.levoltz.com/submit/

- In wordpress, I would update the ping list with the list provided at: http://www.levoltz.com/2009/07/27/top-45-ping-service/

- I would also list my blog at the top blog directories: http://www.levoltz.com/2009/07/26/top-10...t-of-2009/

- I would also use twitter plugins for wordpress to tweet as and when i post a new post.

If these aren't working for you that well, then you need to really concentrate on the keywords and the design of the site.
