Why are they not appearing online to me?

So me and my sister were both on Facebook at the same time. Our friend, let's call her "Jane", was appearing online on my sister's chat, but not on mine. I tried logging in and out of my account, but she still wouldn't appear. I know there's a feature on Facebook chat where you can hide yourself from being seen online from selected people. Do you think she hid herself from me for some reason? Just curious.

I don't think it's like what you think .She might have been just trying it to know how it is to be online from some certain people accidentally at the same time you were on Facebook, Or maybe she's been logging in and out ,too ,just like you,and you also were not appearing to her, and she was figuring out your action.
