Why is my audio on webcam is distorted?

I had a webcam on my computer that worked fine. I gave it to my mother who has the same exact computer except she is running Vista (I had XP) and now when we video chat - she can hear and see me fine but her voice on my end is all distorted. Any solutions?

maybe try using a set of headphones instead of the speakers. or try it in another program, like maybe fb rounds (http://apps.facebook.com/chatrounds/conv...bannerid=0 ). There's probably something screwed up with your sound card - it's definitely not a software compatibility issue between you.
