when you write #blahblah the 'blahblah' is trending n when you have @ its someones account and you are mentioning them so they will get notified you are talking to or about them. Basically its where you 'follow' celebrities and people with the same interests as you

Twitter, its practically kind of a blog. You post funny updated or status's of your life etc ..

The # symbol, called a hashtag, is used to mark keywords.
Examples- Why did the chicken cross the road? To get to the other slide. #Funny

The @ sign is used to send a public tweet to someone on twitter. On facebook its called a Wall Post. If the user's name is 'User123' Then you send him a public reply by puting the @ sign, followed with his username and then a tweet.

Example- @User123 Your tweets are really funny!
