How much can I sell a gently used First Act electric guitar for?
My brother doesn't want his guitar anymore and he said I can sell it. It's a First Act guitar in cherry red so it's nothing special. It's in really good condition, just a bit dusty, the strings are fine, etc, so I'm going to put an ad up on my Facebook and see if any of my FB friends want to buy it. What would be a reasonable price to sell it for? I'm hoping I could get at least $40?

Hello there,

A general rule is that used gear in very good condition sells for half the price of new. The demand factors in the value. A highly sought after model may bring a little more than half. Models and brands that are not sought after (generally low quality inexpensive instruments) may not bring half. The First Act guitars are low quality and not highly sought after. If you can get half of what they now sell for new, you will be lucky.
