Could the acceptation of a friend request on facebook result in a termination of a romantic relationship?

For example, my girlfriend quarreled with me after I accepted another girl on my account. I really couldn't care less. There are more important things for me to focus on if I were to be without this particular girlfriend, especially if she gets perturbed about something as trivial as the acceptation of a friend request on a website.

Mine did the same thing, no clue why.. and she has guys spend the night, she always complementing them on how they look on facebook. Basically flirting, and she gets mad at me for accepting a friend. No clue.
