Why does my internet refuse to load certain sites?

I'm now using windows vista, and my browser is opera ver 10.62. Just recently, when I tried to load certain sites, like facebook, opera would give me "connection closed by remote server".When I tried loading them on IE and chrome, the sites wont load, not even open. Is there any way I can fix this?

ask the admin of your network to change firewall settings.
Make sure parental controls arent active. They will block many of these sites.
