How to tag in tumblr?

Okay, so i'm new to tumblr and i know how to tag buuut, when i go the tracked tag pg (whatever it's called) i dont see my post up there. Am i tagging wrongly or are we not suppose to see your own post.
I tag like this --> #confused, #blahblahblah,

there's no need to put the hashtag in, that's only for twitter
if you're tagging a reblogged post then it won't show up in the tagged page - only original posts do
