Twitter 101.. I need help?

I am trying to like twitter I really am but I dont get it... i know that it's like facebook, but statuses only... but i dont get the retweets and who can all see the retweet and where it goes on the person u retweeted too can someone just give me the dummies guide to twitter, like the acronyms or shortcuts whatever they are called.... btw i am 24 not 97 like my grandmother u see in the picture.. thanks everyone!

Okay! So, anything you post is a tweet. As soon as you hit tweet, that goes to your twitter feed. This is your profile, pretty much, like your facebook wall. Now, the people you follow are like your friends on facebook. Everything they tweet will show up on your news feed, which is what shows up as soon as you log into Twitter.
If you like, or agree with someone else's tweets, you don't have to copy or paste their tweet. You can just "retweet it." This will then show up on your profile as their tweet, but say that you retweeted it. Anyone that follows you will see this tweet that you retweeted, but it will not say that you wrote it. The original person that retweeted it will be shown.
I'm not quite sure what you mean by the acronyms.. possibly the hashtags? (#)
Lets say you put in a hashtag #tired
It will look blue on Twitter, meaning you can click on it. Once you do, it will take you to a page that has every tweet with that hashtag on it. You can retweet any of them you like, follow anyone that seems funny or interesting, so on and so forth. Hope this helped!
