How do you add a brother or sister to your siblings list on your profile on Facebook?

I have tried sending a sibling request to my brother on Facebook and it says that "we will notify him". Although he never got notified. Although people have sent me requests to be their sibling which I have accepted. How come nobody ever recieves my requests?! PLEASE HELP ME!!

1]click on edit my profile [found on your profile]
2]In your basic information,you'll see 'family members'
3]Click on 'add family members'
4]Select the relation and write the name of your brother
4]Click on save changes below
5]Your brother will receive a request then.
