# signs are hash tags, it's kind of words or phrases that people use to write things and the people that look into the hash tag can see it too.

e.g #Popularlies It's not you It's me.
Then another person can use the hash tag #Popularlies, making comments about that

Person 1= #Popularlies I love you
Person2 #Popularlies I'm on my way.

EDIT: OMNG in Twitter we use @(name) to talk with someone.
