It's a thing people use on twitter. It has no real meaning its more of an expression if you like, for example:

"I just walked into a door, #idiot"

Just a way of saying things really.

I guess I'm lucky. Never seen it before.

I could use it though, just to hide my f###ing sw###ring at those id##ts who don't have the slightest clue what they are talking about.

I think the hashtag is used before a word/phrase to make it popular on twitter? I'm not on twitter so I'm not sure exactly. It bugs the hell out of me - its fine on twitter because that's where its meant to be used, but people have now started hashtagging on facebook and its just bloody annoying! And now people have started saying it outloud too! It just sounds stupid!
