How do i stop getting the Facebook notifications of other people?
I get notification alerts on my facebook account from people that i don't even know. They are not my friends or the friends of my friends. I do not know them at all but i get there notifications. These are notifications like photo comments, invitation to an event, posting on a wall, etc.

CAN SOMEONE PLEASE HELP! Sad

FYI. i'm using a desktop computer and not an iphone

any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

It sounds like your privacy settings need to be changed from the default setting of 'everyone' to 'Friends only'. Just go to the Account drop down box on the upper right hand side, choose Privacy settings, click on customise settings ( has a little blue pen next to it), then change them all to 'friends only'. Then noone can comment on your posts, photos etc. Hope that helps! Smile

I think Bellys is right. But if I were you, I am not going to set it friends only. That way is just block you way to connect the the world.
If you do not like such notification, just ignore it. Some share will take you useful information.

The same thing is happening to me. I've tried deleting all cookies, history, uninstalling/re-installing the browser, etc, nothing worked. Have you reported this to the Facebook team? Help center? I did and I got an email from them asking for a screen shot. I sent one, no reply yet about the solution. Facebook has a repository of known issues for the week, I didn't see this problem in the list of topics.

I also cannot tag pictures because a list of people that I don't know come up. Same goes when I search for names in the search field. Strangers come out in the list. This only happens in my connection at home. I brought my laptop to another place and logged in, no issues. I'm using Sky broadband,
