I added my biological half brother on Facebook and I'm glad I did. We now are able to chat occasionally and hang out every once and again. I found out that I am now an auntie and it's great to be able to help her out, since she has almost all of the same medical conditions that I have. I'm happy that because I added my half brother on Facebook, my niece won't have to be in the dark about her medical conditions like I was.

Also, I'm 22 (as you see in my sources) and he is 40, so there is QUITE an age difference. We are definitely in different stages of our lives, however it doesn't stop us from having fun. Most of the time we talk about our upbringings and medical problems, funny things that have happened to us, our interests, etc. I wouldn't let an age difference stop you.

My biological half sister added me on facebook. It was the best thing that has ever happened to me, to have a sister. Just please, if you do, don't just add her, initiate conversation.

No, it wouldn't be weird at all! She's your sister, and I'm sure you love her very much. Plus, adding her will just help you with getting to know her! I have a half sister that I hadn't ever met, and I added her on FB a few months ago. We talk almost every day. About a month after I added her, we became best friends. We meet up almost every weekend. And I never would have met her without Facebook. It's a great way to meet family!
