Is it possible to trace a facebook account that is closed down?

My friends hubby is cheating on her and she found the mistress on facebook.
She created a fake profile on facebook and sent the woman a message.
She got a reply. She didnt respond again and decided it was best to close the fake profile down. However, she is now worried in case the account can be traced back to her (even though both email and facebook account is closed)

Short answer, no.

Long answer yes, it is TECHNICALLY possible - however not for the mistress to find out. She would need to have broken some serious law(s) and the police would need to be involved. The court would then have to get the information from Facebook directly.

It's absolutely not going to happen.

That said, I hope your friend was still married and living with her husband and he was cheating on her etc. and that she was NOT bothering his new partner after they split up.
