Facebook just sent me a notification that a random person joined facebook?

So when I logged onto facebook, I had one new notification. The notification said "Oanh Cao Thi just joined Facebook." I literally have no idea who this person is, and facebook has never sent me a notification that someone joined facebook. I'm so confused. Has this happened to anyone else?

Ignore it they might want to infect your computer with viruses.

I'm having quite a few issues with Facebook today so that could be a bug. I would just ignore it. It could be a bug or it could be somebody trying to target you with a virus. If you keep getting those notifications, I would change your password and if it keeps happening contact Facebook and ask them about it.

i haven't seen it yet but it would not shock me at all that they do that. Facebook has gotten more and more complicated the past few years it makes me want to give it up. I hate timeline, and now i got a message the other day saying they are going to start letting people start using their facebook as an email account, like for example "Johnsmith@facebook.com", which to me is so stupid. And they keep adding more and more useless crap.
