What does # mean on facebook?
People will post a status and then put the # sign. For example, they might say 'the wifi at my house is SO slow! #firstworldproblems'

It's a hashtag. It isn't for facebook, it's for twitter. On facebook you know how you can put @ before something and it tags someone? Well that's what a # does, but for twitter. Only idiots use it on facebook.

Some people do that because they also have twitter and when they try to make something trending , they usually put this number sign and then their sentence, it is called HASHTAG or HASHTAGGING.

It means nothing.. losers on facebook think facebook is twitter...
TWITTER IS WAY BETTER. It's a hashtag, like the first person said. When you "tag" something, it shows up highlighted and you can click on it (only on twitter and aim though.. not facebook.. who was the loser to do THAT first i have no idea) and when you click it, it'll show you different tweets/statuses with that same tag. some of them are funny and they're just interesting. it's like HIGHLIGHTING something |
