Very difficult to get around to job interviews when you can't drive, I am not talking about everyone but if you owe the state and only the state then you should be allowed to drive in order to get a job.

If you owe money, you owe money. Pay your child support and this won't be a problem.
If your license is suspended while you're trying to get a job, borrow a friend's car and let them drive yours. They may be stopped if a cop runs your plates, but there's no reason to detain them once they see it's not you driving your car, and a cop wouldn't stop your friend's car (which you're driving) by running their plates.

Obey traffic laws, get your job, and pay your child support.

Good luck.

If you were paying child support and lost your place of employment you should have notified the court or the person responsible of you situation.

you have to be have a shed load of arrears to reach the stage of having your licence suspended, so if you was looking for work ALL that time why did you not contact the court and let them know your circumstances had changed.

Sorry but imho you are right up in the top five of the ones that should NOT get a special pass.

You should have paid your child support! There is something called public transportation for a reason!

If you lose your job, there are channels to report that and have your child support temporarily lowered or suspended. If the person that owes does not do this, then whose fault is it that he lost his license?

the law is the law, if you dont pay your child support, you dont get to drive, driving is a privilege not a right

Why are there arrears? If there is a legitimate reason, such as unemployment, the obligor can still file for a reduction in them. Most Child Support obligors do not know there is free help from the state, by federal law, to obtain a modification. At the minimum, a motion should be filed to have any interest penalties set aside, which can double or triple the amount owed. Of the total media “reported” amount of child support owed, 83% if interest penalties and not unpaid child support. These links will teach what needs to be known about child support.

For 22 years, I have volunteered my time working with divorced/single fathers dealing in family law issues, such as child support, teaching them about what the states are not telling support obligors.
