Lol whats the point of the # on twitter?
I'm on twitter & i keep seeing words with a hashtag before them. I'm pretty sure they're used to point out words or topics that are relevant to the post...but i just want clarification. any helpful comments?

These are tags. They make it easier to categorize tweets with search engines.
