Facebook notification on my iphone everytime one of my friends checks in?
Why am I only receiving her check in's (not statuses and only her check in's) ? How do I get rid of these notifications?

You only get the notification if the person checks into a place close to you

On your phone go to settings then facebook then push notifications and turn off nearby friends and place tags
