I have my son mon-friday but i still have to pay child support because she doesnt make any money so who ever makes the less money is the one who recives child support, it really is BS. what should i do. I am a man for the record, why do they favor women?

Do what ever you need to do to take care of your child!

If she has sole custody of the child and the child just spends time with you, she is entitled to child support for that child. If you go back to court to sue for custody and get it, then she would have to pay you. She didn't make that child by herself so be a decent father and take care of your kid.

Well it is, a very real problem within our judicial system - that often, a mother is favored for virtually no real reason over the father, I'll grant you that. As a woman, mother, wife, I too find it wholly unfair and have known several women who were less than decent, good, worthy mothers - the fathers being better and certainly, much more responsible in all respects to rear their children over the mother. Go figure.

Short of dumping your son on her M-F and taking him only weekends or skipping out on your responsibility, there is little you can do to equalize an already, inequal situation fiscally. You said it yourself, she makes virtually little money and you make more.

A rather sad situation if you ask me, but the best part? He/she gets to have BOTH of you in being parented, and this is important as role models MATTER. You can resent her all you want, but I would submit the day will come when your son will KNOW and UNDERSTAND all of what you've done for him...and acknolwedge that. You can't put a price on doing the right thing guy...believe me.

Petition the court to have her only have him alternating weekends, that will reduce what she gets. And they don't favor women, its just math. you make $500 a week, she makes 0 a week. 20% of what each of you make goes into the pool of kid's expenses, so $100 a week. That gets divided by custody days, so she gets 2/7ths of it or roughly $30 a week. The percentage may be different, can be as high as 40%, but the math determines it all, not whether its a man or woman

You get out of child support by not working or moving out of the country & never coming back to US to work cause it will be waiting.

You need proof that you are keeping your child 5 days a week & the child support amount will change.

And if u get a raise...and go back to court or your Ex finds out you have a raise...she can request that your pay in child support be higher than it once was. Unless you have primary/full custody than you don't have to pay. And if you have full custody you don't have to share ur kid and she doesnt have to pay. They favor women because they are more nuturing than men. Ex. Florida is a women's state.

If she doesn't make ANY money, you should be getting full custody. Get a better lawyer and go back to court.

Who has primary residential custody? Unfortunately, this is not uncommon.

For 22 years, I have volunteered my time working with divorced and single fathers dealing in family law issues, most especially child support issues along with what the states are not teaching support obligors.
