Should I block my ex boyfriend on facebook?

So to make a long story short he dumped me saying that he needed a break, and yesterday we said goodbye for good. Though he claims he still loves me and will keep in touch, Im not buying it. I do want him back though..I deleted him as a friend on facebook but will blocking him be better?
