How do you guys feel about red lipstick?

Well i decided to try out red lipstick for the first time and liked it so much that i posted the photos on facebook. Then my father said that he was gonna get me for wearing all of that makeup, when i only had on black eyeliner and red lipstick. Is there anything bad that red lips signify that i should know about or something? Does that mean you are promiscuous? I'm 19 years old by the way.

Red lipstick really only looks trashy if it's worn outside of a formal/semiformal setting.

1. Facebook is a dangerous place. Don't put personal info there, unless you are hunting for perverts.
2. When I see red lipstick on a girl I like, I am afraid the lipstick will get all over me. I like a more natural look.

Bold makeup can make girls look a bit trashy...but honestly it just depends who's pulling it off.

I used to think red lip stick looked somewhat whorey, then I saw it on a platinum blonde (she was the edgey type of girl) and it looked stunning!

Just depends what type of girl you are, sadly. Perhaps your dad's opinion thought you couldn't pull it off, or he's just real strict about makeup.

Sounds to me like your father needs to grow the hell up. You're nineteen now: what you do with yourself is entirely your decision, and perhaps he's having difficulty getting that into his head. Red lipstick means nothing other than you like wearing red lipstick; people are going to read whatever they want to into it, and it's up to you to prove to them what *you* want. That was a bit garbled, but I think you get the point. =P

Red lipstick doesn't really signify anything, unless you wear it with little clothing, which could signify that you are a whore. But if you wear it with normal clothes, I do not see the problem with it unless you're wearing a trashy bright red shade. Maybe you should try to get a more natural shade.
