How can I find my birth mother with little information?
I have "unidentifying information" about her. So I know her height, hair color and eye color, family health history, her interests, what she wants to be, her age, and her First name (Possibly her nickname, in fact more likely). Are there any search engines I can use for this type of information to look for her? Or will i need to hire a private investigator? I just want to see if i can do this myself.

Go join http://www.adultadoptees.org/forum/ 'cause it's THE best place for adoptees to be, and is chock full of adoptees who've searched and know how to search.

If you are in USA @ http://www.aborn.faithweb.com/
Click where it says " Before you begin your search." Next, read "Proper way to search, part 1" and then "Proper way to search, part 2." Located on the right column.

There's also:
Adoption Search Reunion @ http://www.adoptionsearchreunion.org.uk/
International Soundex Reunion Registry (ISRR) @ http://www.isrr.net/faq.shtml
GS Adoption Registry @ http://gsadoptionregistry.com/
Adoption Reunion Registry @ http://registry.adoption.com/

Register and check back with them often.

The State/Country where they child was born and adopted may have it's own registry and access laws, so check that out also.

Also try Facebook, Google, Myspace, Ancestry.com, etc.

General Search Advice @ http://www.adultadoptees.org/forum/index...opic=754.0

Good luck!

hey,
i don't have a direct answer to ur question. however, im currently in the same process you are. im looking for my twin brother rhys and our birth mother. i've been doing facebook searches regularly. i thought i saw him at a football game in the opposing teams marching band. so i went on the opp. team's website and searched every corner of that site and i found a pic of my bro Smile i havent been able to speak to him. i've checked his team's game schedule and have been going to games to try and speak with him. sadly, i read a newspaper article i believe is about him and i think he's in juvie or prison. im not the proper age to go to a prison or search for info about an inmate. so, unfortunately i may have to wait. however, im still going to every one of his team's games and scouting marching band competitions for him.

let me warn you, its a frustrating search. its filled with pointless searches thru ancestery.com and undesipherable adoption registrys. my adoption aganecy is super private about info. im also still in high school, which greatly reduces what i can do. a private investigator will b expensive, but thats what i will use when i have the resources.

anyways, i wish you the best of luck. try searching ancestery.com (i doubt i spelled it right) and facebook. and always keep your eyes open, you never know when/where you may meet ur mother.
