How to disable everything that could require the internet on my blackberry curve 3810?

I currently get unlimited internet usage on my phone as part of my plan.. but when i travel abroad it costs a lot to acces the internet... also if i get an email or a facebook/myspace notification it has to connect to the internet.
Any way that i can disable any internet access to my phone?

You can disable data services by going to Options --> Mobile Network --> Data Services change to off.


This will disable all data except for SMS (which doens't travel across the data network.)
