How do you make your activity private? 10 points!?

You know, like somtimes, you find that you can't make someone a contact, and you caqn't see there questions, answers, contacts, and stuff. How do you do that. Also, is it possible to let people try to make you a contact, and you have to aprove, like you find sometimes with celebraties on Twitter?

edit your security settings on your profile page.

Someone can become a "fan" by clicking a link...without your permission, if you allow it. The options in your profile page show how you can make your activities LESS public.

To make your activity private

Click on your avatar pic and then these 2 things

1. Click Edit My Preferences> communications tab
Make your Questions and Answers private on Y!A.
Save Changes

2. Click View Pulse
Click Settings on the right of the page
Updates> Manage Updates
Uncheck the box that says " Show my Updates"
This will make them private elsewhere on the internet
Save Changes

You can also view the Privacy area on this same "Settings" page
If you make your profile private .. your avatar pic may not show on Y!A-

I dont know about the contacts part of your question.
But your contacts will be able to see things you mark as private
