How can I comfort my girlfriend ?
My girlfriend is laying here in bed and she's crying because she just saw on Facebook that her cousin had wrote that their uncle passed away about an hour ago and she's really sad. She wasn't even that close to him. He was sick for only two weeks. Her 20th birthday is coming up next week too. She's crying and she can't get back to sleep but its only 6 in the morning. How can I comfort her ? What should I say to her ?

well, leaving her to get on YA probably isn't the answer.

Just be there for her, ask her if she wants to talk about it, hold her, ask HER what she needs- not us.

tell her that his gone to a better place and that he wouldn't want her to be sad but that she should celebrate life and live everyday to the fullest as nobody knows what tomorrow would bring may he rest in peace

I agree with Grace, ask her what she wants and needs. It's not easy when a family member dies.

I would just stay beside her for moral support, it would mean alot to her. Unless she needs to be alone. Ask her if she wants to talk about some memories, some people feel better specially if something pleasant comes up along the way. Hold her close to you. May he rest in peace. Good luck.
