Does it cost to use the internet on a contract phone?
I just bought a contract phone today and I got a 1GB or 1MB or something of internet on it. It has built in WI-FI and I was told if I'm in a WI-FI zone I can access the internet free but what if it isn't a WI-FI zone does it cost? I also got Facebook, Twitter, Hotmail ect, does that use up the internet? This is my first contract mobile.

It only costs money (or uses up minutes) when you access the internet using the network. That means if you are not in range of a wifi router.
If you are in range of wifi, it's free, because you aren't using the cell network. The phone connects directly to the internet through the wifi router. Whether or not accessing Facebook, Twitter, etc. through wifi or the cell network is the same way. Using cell network = $$$ Using Wifi = Free |
