Why am I not getting notifications on Facebook?

I'll get email notifications for everything.
But on Facebook, I only get notifications for when someone comments on my photo or a photo of me, or when someone likes my status, or posts on my wall.
But i dont get any for when someone comments on my status or replies to a status comment i made. anybody know why?

Okay, what you do is you open the little list where you get your notifications

Then click SEE ALL on the top right corner. Then it will give you a list

Check off which notifications you want.
